Early Irish Harps, handcrafted in Ireland by Irish sculptor and instrument maker, Davy Patton.
Each instrument is hand made from carefully selected native Irish timber, following the historical originals preserved in museums in Dublin and Edinburgh.
Soundboxes carved from single blocks of willow (or other timber if preferred). Strings of brass, silver or gold wire. Decoration carved, painted and woodburned exactly following the original, or newly designed.
left: replica of the medieval Scottish 'Queen Mary' harp, 2006-7. This instrument is featured on Simon Chadwick's CD Clàrsach na Bànrighe. To listen to an excerpt of the harp on the recording, Click here.
